Balvikas Summer Camp – 2016

14th Sri Sathya Sai Balvikas Summer camp was conducted at Olavakode Samithi hall from 13th may 2016 afternoon till 15 th may 2016 afternoon by SSSSO Palakkad. 39 selected students from different units attended the 2 days residential camp.

First Day: 13 Th May 2016

The camp started at 5.30PM. The inaugural address was given by Mrs. Parmilila Das K, District Balvikas in-charge, followed by Mr. Suresh Kumar, District President SSSSO, Palakkad addressed the gathering. The students were then divided into small groups. Ms. Varada and Ms.Haritha coordinated each session which was very delightful to watch.

The first session for the students was the project presentation for which the topics were already given and were advised to prepare well before the camp. The topics were 1) Unity of Faith (Sarva Dharma Samanwayam) – Uniqueness of Sai Organisation and 2) Balavikas – the Gift of SAI Avathar to the Mankind. The children presented it very well. The next session was an interesting session for the kids as well as for the elders named ‘Bhajan Prashnothari’. Sai youth members then taught them the Camp Song which was followed by sumptuous dinner.

Second Day: 14 Th May 2016

The day started with Omkaram, Suprabhatham by Balvikas children. The children were then taught the importance of soorya namaskar, jyothir dhyana and yoga by Sri P K Asokan, DIC Palakkad. After the breakfast, the children were asked to read and study the chart presentations hanged outside the hall. The charts were about the Vahinis which were prepared by the balvikas students of different units and also conducted a Quiz. The questions were from the charts which the students were asked to read earlier. The aim of the session was to give a glimpse of swami’s teachings.

A session on the topic ‘Santhwanam Thedunnavar’’ was given by Sri.Manoj which was very informative and interesting. Dr. Srikanth handled the next session which was on the topic ‘Sankalappa’. Next was a magic show by Sri. Narayanankutti which really entertained the kids. Afternoon session was handled by Sri A M Prabhakaran and the class was on the topic ‘Ammathanne Daivam’. District Sai Youth in charge Sri.Gopakumar interacted with the students on ‘Narendranil Ninnum Vivekanadanilekku’ (A Journey from Narendra to Vivenkanadha).

As a token of gratitude to the Mother Nature, children planted few saplings around the samithi hall. SVP had an interactive session with the children again. This time it was about the Sandhya vandana during which he taught ‘Saisthavam’ to the kids. . Ice-creams were distributed to the students. A video about nature was screened in the evening. Followed by dinner, the second day of the camp came to an end with the camp song.

Third Day: 15 Th May 2016

The day started with Omakram and Suprabhatham at 5am followed by Nagarasangeerthanum and temple Visit. After breakfast, groupwise web chart preparation and presentation on ‘Panchamaha yenjas’ was held. Smt. Sai Lakshmi Mohandas trained the children for flower making in the next session. After that, the Balvikas alumni who have already attended the camp shared their experiences. Sri. Raji Nalnda from Idukki, our honorable chief guest; gave so many valuable inputs on ‘Efficient Communication’. Children were given the chance to interview the guest. There was a session named ‘Message for parents’ in which the children’s parents attended.

All Balvikas students took oath saying ‘I will strictly follow the Panjasheelas, I will never let my parents to old age homes. It was the most beautiful moment for all. Some of the Students and Parents gave feedback about the camp. Prizes were distributed to the winners of various activities and also certificates for Balavikas students for Balavikas examinations were awarded.

Finally, Sai Students once again sang the camp song in front of our beloved Sai Maa.
